Yesterday I taught a foot workshop to a group of young dancers. I gave them plenty of exercises, both with and without a non latex exercise band, to strengthen their lower legs and feet. It very quickly made me remember how great my feet feel after doing specific exercises for them. Working the lower leg muscles makes me feel more connected to the earth, like I am walking with the ground, not above it. The muscles on the bottom of my feet need strengthening and massage and when they get that, they complain a lot less. Those first few steps I take in the morning don’t hurt as much when I pay a little attention to my very hard working feet.
