Believe The Hype Or Not

Are you like me and get sucked into those tempting headlines on the covers of consumer magazines claiming to get you to lose weight in 7 days? Maybe you can have killer abs in a month or grow hair with a simple one easy step application. Every month consumer magazines are at war with each other to get your attention. That’s why they do it. And it’s the same every month. If you have kept all those subscriptions you might also find that what they are claiming this summer is the same thing they shouted out last summer. But are they telling the truth?

Can you really lose weight so fast? Can you tone those flabby arms of yours with a certain exercise? Yes you can, but nothing is as easy as it seems. Losing unwanted weight in a relative short period of time is doable, but it’s safer to do it over a longer period of time. Of course changing your eating and exercise habits have a lot to do with it. As the saying goes, “slow and steady wins the race”. Well, that philosophy works here as well. The goal is to keep the weight off, to keep your body toned, and to maintain a healthier lifestyle. If it takes a headline from a magazine to get you off the couch and become proactive toward your fitness and health, then I guess they know what they are talking about.
