Dynamic Balance Stability Ball DVD Review
Having just completed the Pilates DVD, “Dynamic Balance” by STOTT PILATESĀ®, I can honestly say how much I liked this workout. Moira Merrithew, the creator behind the STOTT PILATES method of exercise, leads the workout along with P.J. O’Clair, another powerhouse Stott instructor. This is a challenging workout involving a stability ball, so any Pilates moves that are challenging on the mat are even more challenging on the stability ball because of the instability of the surface you are working on.
The benefits of this workout are many. It’s thorough including exercises for the legs, feet, arms, back, legs and of course, balance. I like the exercise that imitate the work on the Pilates Reformer. I really felt my legs working in the footwork series and my feet got a workout too. And for those at home exercisers, the ball can be a replacement for an actual Reformer, making this an economical workout as well. I enjoy seeing Moira leading and doing the workout. She’s better than anyone that can show you the correct way to perform the exercises and she looks great doing them.
As with all the STOTT PILATES DVDs, Dynamic Balance gives you a solid warm-up, is paced well, is well thought out, and is safe for the general public. Dynamic Balance is best for intermediate to advanced audiences and requires a stability ball and exercise mat. It offers 32 exercises in 40 minutes.
